Growing up on hip hop, indie/grunge and 80’s electronica back in Canada… he moved into the scene in 2005 in Taichung, Taiwan, spinning nu breaks and electro/tech, but moved more towards the electro-grunge/fidget side of things… mashing up old electronica and 80’s indie-rock into the mix. Playing all over Taiwan, and hosting events including the free beach parties on Nan Wan during Spring Scream down in Kenting, as well as various SPIKED events in Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung and Taipei. Also hosted a weekly after party in Taipei at club DV8 called RISE, followed by FLY sundays @ COCKY bar, bringing in the hottest Taiwanese and foreign djs together under one roof each week. vDub now spins mostly nu breaks, indie rock and electro-grunge, while occasionally throwing 80’s and retro/funk parties into the mix.

DTS Upcoming Events 欣喜若狂新聞快訊 P1

Guys, we’re FUCKING ECSTATIC with news. In the last year, party kids, students, and professionals alike have packed and frenzied dance floors as Shitdisco, Adam Freeland, Steve Aoki, 2 many Dj’s, and Diplo have all breezed through Taipei and left us all craving more of that crazy electro dance music.

Not only have these international DJ’s helped build this scene, but the local talent is widespread and needs to be showcased too!

Dancing Through Sunday launching a weekly Friday electro dance party (NEON Nights @ The Loft), AND we have a whole string of events coming up. We’ve been super busy!!! Help us bring you more electro! COME OUT AND DANCE!

在報告新聞之前, 讓我們先來回溯過去一年在 Shitdisco, Adam Freeland, Steve Aoki, 2 many Dj’s, Diplo, Designer Drugs, 大家是怎樣瘋狂的擠爆了舞池, 怎樣聚集丹田的力量嘶吼出DJ的名字, 怎樣爬到很高的人的背上騎馬打仗, 沒事來個大合唱, 點點點點點… 大家還記得吧??? 在這些狂風掃境的同時, 不僅僅台灣的 electro music經過些國際DJ的加持後, 開始有越來越多人follow.. 更令人欣慰的是, 經過各派對單位的努力, 越來越多優秀正點的本土DJ有了更多曝光的機會, 也得到越來越多粉絲的支持和推崇!!

因為以上, Dancing Through Sunday將推出主打本土DJ的每週五electro dance party, 還有!! 已經排到六月的一連串的活動!! 網站將近兩個月的沈寂不是沒有原因, 我們靜悄悄地籌辦了在本新聞快訊中即將向您報告的活動!! 請支持Dancing Through Sunday!! 因為Dancing Through Sunday已經而且會繼續不斷的為大家籌劃electro活動!!

1. LAPSAP (Zouk / KL, Malaysia) is helping us launch NEON Nights @ The Loft this Friday March 26th, 2010. These crazy kids warmed up a crowd of thousands for the Bloody Beetroots on New Years, and our minds were blown. Lapsap is electro music, clothing, and culture, all of which their coming armed with to Taiwan.

Playing alongside Treasure Fingers who is hot hot hot on A Trak’s FOOLS GOLD label, these guys are playing all electro, all night! But forget your dancing shoes unless they go with your bikini, as you’ll be jutting out of waterslides to the sweet tunes of Craze and Treasure Fingers.

LAPSAP是廣東話發音, 其意為垃圾.. LAPSAP沒空跟你搞嚴肅, 只有跟垃圾一樣智障的對話, 跟垃圾一樣瞎的經驗, 還有跟垃圾一樣”蛤？”的fashion.. 反正就是跟垃圾一樣扯的everything!! 因為LAPSAP的垃圾都是金色的!! 金色的!! 金!!色!!的!!!!!

LAPSAP曾與Bloody Beetroots, 2 Many Dj’s, Shinichi Osawa, Shitdisco, Sex Invaders, Clash The Disco Kids, Brodinski, 還有the Dexpistols等藝人同台演出, 當然不只這些, 但是名單太長了所以只列出以上.. LAPSAP於2010跨年派對為THE BLOODY BEETROOTS開場.. 幫TBB開場可不是隨便一個DJ就可以辦到的事… LAPSAP不僅幫TBB開場, 還在開場SET就讓舞池達到不只是一般程度的高潮!!

WE ARE LAPSAP: 5ft and Mr Puah spent 1 minute in the Zumlaffen Correctional Centre after causing a stir in the design and hairdressing community. Their eclectic taste in music ranging from pop, electronic, rock to well, just about anything that sounds good was too much for them people at the Correctional Centre to handle. So they were pardoned… 5ft and Mr Puah were quite disappointed though. They fancied the centre’s menu offerings of meat spare parts and bitter gourd!

Disappointed, they were thrown to the Loft at Zouk. This was where they saw the rainbow and stumbled upon a leprechaun. The leprechaun advised them to take rubbish seriously. And when they discover the true value of rubbish, they will find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. 5ft and Mr Puah then set off on this mission to find the true value of rubbish by throwing unique private rubbish parties themed Lapsap (rubbish in Cantonese). There’s just no room for seriousness, just rubbish from conversation, experiences, fashion… anything that’s full of shit!

Lapsap are from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and have played with names such as Bloody Beetroots, 2 Many Dj’s, Shinichi Osawa, Shitdisco, Sex Invaders, Clash The Disco Kids, Brodinski, and the Dexpistols to name a few.

“Youth cults come and go. Lapsap is where it’s at. The private party founded by DJs Blink and Xu in 2007 has quickly gone from cult to scene, with its own style, fashion and sound. Taking the trash aesthetic that has spurred micro-club culture worldwide the pair wanted a name that, according to Blink ‘looked good and reflected us and our culture as well’. So they called it Lapsap, meaning ‘rubbish’ in Cantonese, cutting their ties with the old Nu-Rave tagged night, and laying the foundations for the anything goes filthy electro that has become its trademark sound.” (Matt Armitage)

Steve Aoki has come and gone and what we are left with are massive smiles, infinite memories, and a solid path to more parties like this one in Taiwan. A thousand million thank yous go out to everyone who contributed in making this night the party that it was. Thank you to EVERY SINGLE PERSON who helped fill Luxy (and wow was it ever full) and turned that room into a hot, sweaty, and crazy dance party. The vibe was fucking unreal!!!! THANK YOU TAIWAN!

Mark "The Cobrasnake" Hunter 加入Steve Aoki亞洲巡迴台北站!!!!!!!

Dancing Through Sunday緊急通知!!
DJ Steve Aoki 12月26號台灣表演將會與美國知名派對及流行文化網站The Cobrasnake合作，當天派對活動時況照片將會全球放送，請換上最引人矚目的打扮並盡情投入在舞池中，準備成為攝影師Mark Hunter手中的獵物吧!!

現代年輕人只要參加派對必定會細心打扮爭取異性目光，每個人造型出眾並使出盡渾身解數要成為夜店的焦點，因此The Cobrasnake所到的派對場景就好比1970年的54俱樂部（Studio 54），是當代流行文化、夜生活文化等的經典代表，人們透過網路了解各地流行服飾，間接也開始引起時尚品牌注意，甚至影響品牌設計風格，流行雜誌紛紛開闢派對拍攝單元，時尚品牌開始邀請The Cobrasnake到伸展台的後台拍攝，透過網站照片提前曝光新設計，先引起人們討論話題。所以說The Cobrasnake是推動了地下音樂文化和流行文化的發展與結合。

DJ Steve Aoki接受訪問時曾說:「我和Mark可以說是一起發展起來的，認識的時候他才17歲，而我是23歲才剛開始DJ放音樂，我看到一個年輕人在派對裡拍照，我們的默契很好，很快就一拍即合，就常常一起出去表演，一起巡迴過好多國家。以前派對裡的照片都只能看到藝人名人，可是The Cobrasnake不是想要拍這樣的人，Mark只拍一些在Party中很陶醉的年輕人，穿衣很有自我風格的人，目的只是想要記錄這樣子的文化，所以若經過25年後，大家都可以回顧當年的音樂及流行文化。Mark喜歡真實的景象，比方喝酒、吐、跌倒等等糗態，拍照覺得喜歡就拍，並不會考慮太多事情，打架、脫衣服、任何事情都會拍起來，因為Mark是一個充滿童心的一個人，在The Selby家居網站就可以發現Mark家中還是充滿許多童年回憶。
